Olivier Du Tre`

I have known Olivier or should say Oli (“Olee”) for a couple of years now as we met doing a variety of presentations for The Camera Store in Calgary, Alberta. If you do not know who this guy is or have not heard of him, or seen his images, well you are in for a […]

Boon I was bored. I have more than hundred pages of document to write up, but this morning, I felt drained and uninspired. Until I saw your new blog feed on Facebook, to my curiosity, I clicked on it.
What an amazing read!
Some how, it gives me chill, I’m not sure why. I feel so close to it, but at the meantime, it’s not something that I am familiar with. I guess is the person that you picked and you encountered along the way.
You were in NYC, you didn’t pick a Caucasian, Mexican, black or aboriginal, who we probably have seen plenty of people photographed before. You picked a Chinese lady. You didn’t pick a homeless, but an average lady who we regularly see in China Town but hardly pay attention to them. You bumped into a Malaysian guy who speaks both mandarin and Cantonese, which is awesome!
I really wish I am there to help you be a translator too and hear all the stories from her. (cause I am a Malaysian too and speaks both Cantonese and Mandarin, ha.) There are so many questions going in my mind. Lots of why?
And I love the images. Totally feel all the hard work she needs to go through to earn for a living. Imagine if it’s raining or during winter time. I really wish one day she could find a better job in a restaurant again and being paid hourly.
Great story, great work Jeremy! Big thumbs up for you.

Clayton Hansen Very compelling story.
Lately I have lost that loving feeling needing more inspiration for the craft.
Makes me want to take my camera out more often!

Kudos sir!
